MSTRKFT

The Looks.
MSTRKRFT (pronounced “mastercraft”) is Al-P and Jesse Keeler. Upon the demise of their beloved indie-rock project DFA1979, this duo set out to obliterate their past on the dance floor. Now, they have become international-level DJs, best known for their stellar remixes of bands like Wolfmother, Metric, Bloc Party and All Saints. The Looks is their first foray into original material. While clearly influenced by Daft Punk and the Ed Banger record label sound, The Looks is the perfect soundtrack for glossy robotic sophisticates to make circuit-breaking love to. The one area Looks feels vacant is in the lyrics. Some songs sound bare—even for dance music. But as implied in the name, perhaps this is the point. Just think of a sexy cyborg shaking his or her atomic-powered booty. Key tracks include "The Looks," "Easy Love" and "Work on You."
