!earshot charts - top 20 loud of 2015
1 | ![]() ![]() Success - (Flemish Eye) http://www.ken-mode.com @kenmodenoise After six albums spread out over 12 years, Winnipeg's KEN mode broke through with 2015's Steve Albini produced Success. Fronted by brothers Jesse (guitar/vocals) and Shane Matthewson (drums) and Daryl Laxdale on bass, the band had a big year in 2013 with the previous album Entrench that earned them a cover story in Exclaim!. That stoked the anticipation for their next record and when Success was released in June 2015, it quickly found a home atop the !earshot Loud Charts where is stayed for the next 5 weeks and even returned for two more weeks at #1 later in the summer. Under Albini's guidance they adopted a more stripped-down yet still aggresive sound. Hardcore that is a little bit more accessible than previous efforts seems to find approval from fans and radio.
