Run the Jewels 3 rose like a rocket on the earshot charts when it was released. Can Con rules usually give Canadian bands an advantage so it is rare to see a international band topping the annual Hip Hop chart. RTJ seems to break through genre biases to find a wider appeal among alternative music fans getting pays not just on Hip Hop show but also on show more usually the home of indie rock. That has gotta be a good thing.
