In Guelph, Ontario during the summer of 1996 Flashlight Brown's
four original members started jamming in a dingy basement on the
weekends. Four years later, three albums, a successful .mp3 release,
moderate rotation on MuchMusic and MusiquePlus as well as some attention
paid by collage radio have lead to the development of a significant
fan base across the country. The band features a blend of ska, punk
and pop rock. !earshot magazine's Nicholas Cornell spoke
with members of Flashlight Brown about their music and their new
album.
