It's hard to believe that Do Make Say Think could possibly follow up their brilliant
Goodbye Enemy Airship, The Landlord is Dead with an even more accomplished and perfect recording. And yet, (forgive me) they do.
& Yet & Yet is even more sonically intricate, more richly layered, more vastly expansive, and yet (darn it, again!) never sinks into post-rock's indulgent trappings.
Of particular note are Tamara Williamson's theremin-esque vocals on "Soul And Onward," perhaps perfectly exemplifying the restraint the group show in allowing elements to shine within a greater framework; one that is at once architecturally complex and deceptively understated.
