If you close your eyes when you listen to this album you can easily imagine you're somewhere in the south....maybe on somebody's porch or in a gazebo. It's slow and spare music with soulful, warm vocals that remind me at times of Natalie Merchant. Although it won't be enough to convert a dyed-in-the-wool indie rock fan over, there are plenty of people who will be satisfied with their mellow, laid-back feel. Think of a funkier, jazzier Cowboy Junkies and you might get an idea of their sound. "City Song" and "Wheels Are Taking Me Away" are standouts. Trish Klein, a founding member of The Be Good Tanyas and Alison Russell, a player in the Vancouver celtic folk band called Fear Of Drinking, make up the album's duo. Diona Davies, the third member, joined later and is not featured on this album.
