In Their Darkened Shrines

The tone of this release is set out by the artwork it contains. The cover of this album features an "ankh" with a serpent wrapped around it. All the songs on this CD are Egyptian inspired in nature, most of it sounding dark and evil. This theme of Egyptian evil is very exiting to me and will be to other metal fans alike. When listening to the album I picture evil sorcerers throwing snakes at Charlton Heston. However, this time the snakes do not get eaten by the greater snake of Moses, instead they form an evil symbol of some sort and then unite into a giant snake like "Voltron". Young Mr. Heston is beside himself when the giant snake bites off his hand and drinks from the stump like it was a juice box. The whole album is an enjoyable epic experience. The near 12 minute track "Unas Slayer of the Gods" stands out as my personal favorite. This album sounds great, has melodic instrumentals and it definitely has excellent flow. The goat, serpent, and all of pharaoh's sorcerers will recommend this album, and so do I.
