As you step into Lab Coast’s debut album Wilding you’re sure to find the washed up treasures that beachcombers delight in. As softly-sugar-coated lo-fi pop drips out of your stereo you realize it is almost impossible to ignore the incredibly talented duo. The cast is constructed of two enduring experimental musicians with no lack of experience. David Laing drably hums fantastically romantic lyrics over charming guitar lines played by Chris Dadge.

Within these eleven hardly simple songs that make up Wilding you’ll find the melancholy treasures of garage-pop and the avant explorations of something far beyond rock and roll. You'll find ghostly samples and noisy excursions popping in. You’ll likely be whisked away to some quiet and artsy American coast where four-tracks reside in every musicians jam space and gray waves inspire every artist who traverses the sands. Much the same way that Sebedoh and Neutral Milk Hotel came upon their sound, I imagine at least.
