The brother and sister team of S.J. Kardash &  Maygen Kardash delve into heavy rock and electro influenced riffs and gritty animalistic sound mutations. Coming from the middle of the prairies in Saskatoon, the two have created a chaotic mass of poetic lyrics. It is more geared for the supposed dreary and Goth rock crowd that might enjoy some poppy influences, but  it soars more into the weak minded and it does not live up to the attitude they convey on the EP. I’m sure the live performance would be more inspirational or electrifying in a positive sense but after hearing a couple songs, the production quality doesn’t amount to anything mind-altering and follows a formulaic structure. The potential is there but perhaps  Violent Kins needs a little more time and experience to  push them forward into new and more interesting explorations.
